Dr. Yongze Song is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) and Doctoral Supervisor at Curtin University, Australia. He is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society (RGS), United Kingdom, and a Publications Committee Member of the International Association for Mathematical Geosciences (IAMG).

He has expertise in developing geospatial methods and implementing Earth data for sustainable infrastructure. He developed more than 15 new geospatial methods and 8 R software packages with over 100,000 downloads for understanding geographical and spatial data. He published over 50 peer-reviewed journal articles, including 5 highly-cited papers. He is a recipient of more than ten awards at international and national levels, such as the Global Top 10 Young Scientist Award and the Australian National Location Data First Prize.

He is an Editorial Board Member of 7 international peer-reviewed journals, including GIScience & Remote Sensing (IF 6.397), iScience (IF 6.107), Annals of GIS, Remote Sensing (IF 5.349), Geo-spatial Information Science (IF 4.278), etc. He serves as a Guest Editor for 6 journals, such as Science of Remote Sensing, International Journal of Applied Earth Observation and Geoinformation (IF 7.672), etc. He serves as a Chair or Program Committee Member for international conferences held in Australia, the United Kingdom, Egypt, Norway, China, France, the United States, Canada, Iran, Vanuatu, and Greece. He serves 40 peer-reviewed journals as a reviewer. He was invited to present more than 40 research seminars at universities (e.g., Harvard University, Australian National University, National University of Singapore, Peking University, etc.) and industries globally.
